Mr. Giacopelli graduated magna cum laude from Drew University where he majored in Political Science. Mr. Giacopelli was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Sigma Alpha (Political Science), and Pi Alpha Theta (History) honor societies. During his time at Drew, he was elected President of the Student Government Association and served as the student representative on trustee/university level committees. Mr. Giacopelli received a number of awards and honors for his service to the university and to the community.
In June of 2008, Mr. Giacopelli received his J.D. from New York Law School, where he was awarded the Lung-chu Chen Award for Excellence in the Field of Human Rights. During law school, Mr. Giacopelli held a summer internship with the Honorable William O'Brien of the Nassau County District Court. During 2007 and 2008, he worked as a research assistant to Professor Lung-chu Chen and Professor Ruti Teitel. In 2006, he interned with the Registry Office of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
Mr. Giacopelli is admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey, the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Bar of the State of New York.
