A devoted litigator, Ms. Gayle joined HKMP with experience in both criminal defense and government. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Gayle served as Executive Agency Counsel with the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board, prosecuting allegations of police misconduct and engaging in policy work. She also worked with Queens Law Associates as a defense attorney, engaging specifically with youth clients in misdemeanors and felonies. An Association of Black Women Attorneys’ Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholarship recipient, in law school, Amanda was awarded the Justice Center’s Racial Justice Fellowship, where in addition to working with the American Civil Liberties Union, she examined racial disparities in healthcare, education and the criminal justice system. Upon graduation, Amanda was recognized with the Chief Justice Rose E. Bird Award.
